eSoft Offers Global E-mail Access with EMUMAIL for the Mobile Workforce
BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Have you ever been in an airport traveling for business and needed to check your e-mail, but could not gain access to your local area network?
eSoft Inc. (NASDAQ: ESFT), a leading provider of Internet security appliances that include firewall and VPN for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), today announced Webmail, a new SoftPak for the InstaGate EX and EX2 products. Available immediately, Webmail makes accessing corporate e-mail simple from almost anywhere including home computers, client sites, shared workstations, airport kiosks and cyber cafés.
eSoft has partnered with EMUmail - a leader in web-based e-mail software development - to deliver Webmail, which enables users to access e-mail while outside of the office. With Webmail, the only tool needed to send and receive e-mail is a web browser. Webmail does not require a second e-mail address, special system configuration or a VPN.
"eSoft strives to meet the changing needs of our customers," said Dave Aylesworth, product manager for the InstaGate EX and EX2 security appliances. "Our customers needed a way to permit remote access to corporate e-mail without the requiring users to log on to the LAN. The Webmail SoftPak meets this need and provides a simple and economical way to send mission-critical data to a mobile workforce."
Webmail is integrated with the InstaGate EX POP and IMAP mail servers and converts Microsoft™ Word attachments to HTML, which assures traveling personnel that they can easily read documents while checking mail remotely.
"By merging the benefits of web browser technologies with the InstaGate EX product line, together we are able to help businesses conquer geographic limitations for accessing e-mail while on the road," said Ron MacDonald, Sales Manager for EMUmail. "Webmail programs like EMUmail's are a natural integration for the InstaGate EX appliances and an ideal fit for eSoft customers."
Through eSoft's innovative patent-pending SoftPak Director, Webmail is available for immediate download with a single touch of a button. Webmail is one of several SoftPaks available from eSoft. Other SoftPaks include Anti-Virus, SiteFilter, SpamFilter and Firewall Policy Manager.
SoftPaks provide revenue for eSoft's value added reseller (VAR) and service provider partners by virtually eliminating costly truck rolls and site visits for customer upgrades.
